About

What is FOSH?

FOSH stands for Friends Of Sacred Heart (also known as a PTA group). We are a registered charity run with the help and support of parents/carers and staff of Sacred Heart School.

All parents of children at the school automatically become members of FOSH, which exists to support and advance the education of all the pupils.

Who is on the FOSH committee:

Chairperson: Donna Swann

Treasurer: Katherine Eaton

Secretary: Fran Lundy

How do we support the children and the school?

FOSH meets at least once a term to discuss and arrange a mixture of social and fund-raising activities throughout the school. Some events we have had in the last 12 months so far include:

Raffles – with some great prizes

Cake sales – after school

Break the Rules Day

Second hand school uniform sales

What has FOSH spent the money on

Various items for Reception Class

New canopy to cover the outside space for Year 1

Easter egg hunt for the whole school

Books for the library

Scooter/bike rack

Log Climber

Ipads for the Children

What can parents do?

By joining in the activities of the PTA you can find out more about how the school works and get to know other parents and staff at the school. You will also be enhancing the facilities, fundraising for extra resources and helping the pupils to receive a richer education. There’s also a definite possibility of having fun and making new friends at the same time. Some members come regularly to meetings, others offer help for functions or bake cakes and biscuits to sell, whilst others may not have so much time to offer but make donations to appeals for raffle and tombola prizes. All help is gratefully received.

FOSH are always looking for new ideas and parents, grandparents or carers help and support at events, so if you can offer any time it would be much appreciated.

We are very fortunate with GLAXO community funds. Parents who help within the school, for at least 8 hours in a year, can apply for a community grant and over the past few years we have been very lucky to help boost our funds in this way.

Sponsored event

We have previously had parents competing in fun events and raising sponsorship money for FOSH. FOSH would welcome all the support you can give, so if you are thinking of holding a sponsored event then please speak to a member of FOSH.
